A Dell laptop battery, such as a 1691P, fits in a compartment underneath the laptop and powers the entire computer. This battery needs to be fully assembled before it is inserted. If you have recently come across the individual components of a Dell battery, you can put the entire thing together in a matter of minutes.
Locate the cylindrical green battery cells and plug in your soldering iron. Notice the green battery board in the bottom half of the battery housing.
Solder the ends of the wires that run from the cells to the metal connectors on top of the battery board with the soldering iron. Wait a few moments for the solder to dry.
Run hobby glue along the outside edges of the bottom half of the battery case. Fit the top half of the battery case over the bottom half, making sure that the sides are flush.
Wait until the glue dries completely and insert the battery in your computer.
