The Dell Latitude C610/C510 is a laptop computer manufactured by Dell. It uses a rechargeable battery to power the computer for a limited amount of time while the computer is not plugged into an electric power sources. Dell states that laptop batteries generally last for 18 to 24 months before they show signs of needing to be replaced. It is time to replace a laptop battery when the running time begins to decrease or it can no longer be charged.
Turn the laptop off. Unplug the laptop.
Place the laptop, so the bottom is facing upward. Slide the two battery releasing latches on the bottom of the laptop to the left.
Remove the battery back by pulling or sliding it outward.
Place a new Dell lithium-ion battery into the battery-housing unit.
Plug the AC adapter connector into the back of the Dell C610 laptop and the wall. Allow the battery to charge completely before using the computer. The battery should charge completely within 2 1/2 hours.
